As the climate crisis intensifies, technological solutions are becoming increasingly critical—and Europe continues to serve as a central hub for climate innovation. Within this dynamic ecosystem, HELIOS has been actively contributing with its advanced carbon capture materials, taking part in two major international events in a short time frame: Valencia Digital Summit 2025 and Climate Tech Festival Vienna.

At both events, HELIOS presented its MOF-based CO₂ capture materials to international stakeholders, sharing its perspective on how advanced materials can enable scalable and impactful climate solutions.
The urgency behind this work is clear. With global CO₂ emissions reaching an all-time high of 37.8 gigatons in 2024—nearly 50% above pre-industrial levels—the world is falling short of the net-zero targets set by the Paris Agreement. Exceeding the 2 °C threshold risks triggering irreversible changes, including accelerated ice melt, rising sea levels, and the destabilization of forest and ocean ecosystems. Heavy industries such as steel, cement, and energy production remain among the largest contributors to these emissions, underscoring the need for practical and scalable carbon capture technologies.
Valencia Digital Summit 2025 is one of Europe’s leading technology and entrepreneurship events, bringing together startups, investors, public institutions, and industry leaders. With a strong focus on deep tech, sustainability, and climate technologies, the summit provides a fertile ground for collaboration and exchange. At VDS 2025, HELIOS participated alongside founders from the EmpoWomen Programme and the Women TechEU community, engaging with an international audience and highlighting the role of MOFs in industrial carbon capture. The event also offered an important platform to strengthen the visibility of women entrepreneurs in deep-tech driven climate solutions.
Climate Tech Festival Vienna, on the other hand, is an impact-focused gathering that brings together startups developing tangible technologies to address climate change. With its emphasis on carbon capture, sustainable industry, energy transition, and environmental innovation, the festival underscored the importance of solutions that can move beyond research and deliver real-world climate impact. HELIOS’s participation in Vienna reinforced the positioning of its MOF-based CO₂ capture technology as a deployable solution with the potential to support industrial decarbonization. The event also enabled direct engagement with climate-tech actors from across Europe.
The journey from Valencia to Vienna reflects HELIOS’s growing presence on the European climate-tech stage and highlights the cross-border relevance of its approach to carbon capture and industrial decarbonization. By placing Metal–Organic Framework technology at the core of its work, HELIOS continues to move forward with the ambition to contribute meaningfully to the next generation of climate solutions.
