Slush 2025 marked an important milestone for HELIOS. Attending one of the world’s most influential startup and technology events for the first time as a team was both energizing and inspiring. From intensive pitching sessions to meaningful exchanges with founders, investors, and industry leaders, the experience reinforced the value of being part of a truly global innovation ecosystem.

At a time when our planet is approaching a critical breaking point, gatherings like Slush matter more than ever. With global CO₂ emissions reaching an all-time high of 37.8 gigatons in 2024—nearly 50% higher than pre-industrial levels—the world is falling behind on its net-zero commitments under the Paris Agreement. If global warming surpasses the 2 °C threshold, the risk of irreversible changes such as accelerated ice melting, rising sea levels, and ecosystem collapse becomes increasingly real.
Heavy industries such as steel, cement, and energy production remain among the largest contributors to global emissions. Addressing this challenge requires scalable and deployable carbon capture solutions that work directly at the source of pollution. HELIOS is developing advanced sorbent materials based on Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs) to enable more efficient carbon capture from industrial flue gases, supporting the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors.
Our presence at Slush 2025 was not only about visibility—it was about dialogue. Throughout the event, we engaged with stakeholders who share a common belief: advanced materials can play a transformative role in building a more sustainable industrial future. These conversations strengthened our conviction and opened new pathways for collaboration.
